BSTU/Alexandra School Dispute (PR 13 Jan. 2012) |
|
PRESS RELEASE
Monday, 13 January 2012
The escalation of the impasse between the Barbados Secondary Teachers’ Union and the Principal of the Alexandra School is to be deeply regretted.
The Congress of Trade Unions and Staff Associations of Barbados (CTUSAB), reinforces the point that the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development and the Chief Personnel Officer must take lead responsibility to bring about a resolution to the dispute.
The Congress implores the parties to the dispute to seek to resolve the matter through the process of dialogue; invoking the dispute resolution mechanism and not through the medium of public comment.
The Congress is aware of continued efforts to bring about a resolution to the matter, and believes that nothing more should be done by any party to inflame passions.
