Transfer of Teachers to and from Alexandra School |
By: Dennis de Peiza, General Secretary - January 8, 2013
The Congress of Trade Unions and Staff Association of Barbados met yesterday, January 7, 2013 in emergency session at Solidarity House, to discuss the implications of the transfer of teachers to and from the Alexandra School.
CTUSAB is dismayed over the recent developments that have lead to the continued escalation of the impasse, which stemmed from the tensions between the Principal of the Alexandra School and members of the teaching staff, who are represented by the Barbados Secondary Teachers’ Union.

New Year’s Message- 2013
By: President, Cedric H. Murrell

Daily, as we observe nature at work, it is evident that we human beings have a lot to be thankful for, but are we? The ability to appreciate nature at work is of itself, one of the most powerful attributes given to mankind.
The wind and rain, the birds and bees, the flora and fauna, fowls and grazing animals, the different hues of the blue of the sea and the green of the plants are such at one and the same time a revealing and soothing sight that man ought to be required to take time out to bask in earth’s natural splendor, and truly appreciate the majesty and omnipotence of our God.

Independence Day Message - 2012 |
By: Dennis de Peiza, General Secretary, of the Congress of Trade Unions and Staff Associations of Barbados
November 30, 2012
The celebration of the nation’s 46th anniversary of independence, presents another opportunity for reflection on the struggles that have been championed, as it emerged from the dark ages of a slave society, and transitioned from a colony under British rule to an independent state.
In looking beyond the past and into the future, Barbadians should use this occasion to also reflect on what the nation expects of each of its citizens. It is important that each citizen seizes the moment to carefully consider their individual contribution to the building of a better Barbados.
